Certification status
Why this is stated so flatly
An institutional buyer’s diligence process exists to catch exactly this claim. A “SOC 2 in progress” badge with no engaged auditor behind it is discovered in the first DDQ call, and it discredits every other statement on the site — including the true ones. The repository’s own strategy record costs SOC 2 preparation at $20–40k and lists it among the things not yet done; publishing anything else here would contradict the internal record. If SOC 2 is a hard gate for your organisation, the honest answer today is that this platform does not clear it.What a buyer can use instead
Self-hosted deployment
The data stays inside your perimeter and inherits your certified controls. There is no vendor data pool to assess.
Open source review
The full threat model, the code, and the tests are readable. That is a stronger artifact than an attestation for some review processes, and no substitute for one in others.
Regulatory posture: the publisher’s exclusion
Scienter publishes impersonal signals of general and regular circulation, positioning it within the publisher’s exclusion from Investment Advisers Act registration established by Lowe v. SEC (472 U.S. 181, 1985).The honest caveat
Concretely:- The per-trade confirmation toggle defaults to ON (notify, do not auto-execute). Auto-execution is opt-in, per delegation.
- Every delegation is logged to the compliance audit trail with exact scope terms, the disclaimer version acknowledged, and the confirmation-mode choice.
- This is not a legal opinion and none of the authors are lawyers. Counsel should review the auto-execute path specifically before enabling it in any jurisdiction where you intend to operate.
Responsibility split
Because deployment is self-hosted, the operator is the data controller and holds most obligations: retention, data subject requests, access control, breach notification, and jurisdictional analysis. See Data handling.Roadmap
Certification work is demand-triggered rather than scheduled — it begins when a specific deal requires it, because the preparation cost is material relative to current stage. No dates are published here, because a published date with nothing behind it is the same failure as a false badge.Scienter publishes impersonal market signals of general and regular circulation. Nothing here is investment, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Scienter is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
